MAPC, in partnership with MassDevelopment, has developed this state-wide emergency grant program to provide emergency funding for state and municipal agencies that coordinate transportation services, regional transit authorities (RTAs), and Health and Human Services Transportation (HHST) providers to contract with taxicab, livery, or hackney businesses for transportation and delivery needs for the Commonwealth’s vulnerable populations and others in need during the current COVID-19 emergency.

The service is temporary, with the intention of lasting through at least 2022.  There is no fee for participation. These temporary, grant-funded transportation services via taxi, will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.

All rides must begin or end in Stow.

Who is eligibile for service?


Stow residents meeting at least one of the following requirements:

  • Age 50+
  • Individual with a Disability
  • Financial Need
  • Active Duty Military/Veteran
  • Essential Worker

Residents may begin requesting taxi rides once eligibility for the prorgram is determined by the Council on Aging. More information about specific eligibility requirements and ride requests can be found here.
