UPCOMING VOTING OPPORTUNITIES for STOW RESIDENTS

  • SPECIAL TOWN MEETING  
    ** There is NO Absentee Voting for Town Meetings **
    Monday, November 18, 2019
    7:00pm
    Hale School, 55 Hartley Road
     

General Information:

  • Check In will be in the Cafe
  • The Town Meeting will take place in the Auditorium - seating will only be for registered voters, approved speakers, and the press
  • Over Flow seating for registered voters & non-voters will be in the Cafe
  • The Cafe will have seating for voters that bring children
  • Please bring your copy of the Warrant (warrants are mailed to every household in a town-wide mailing of the Stow Independent)
  • The Board of Selectmen will meet before the start of Town Meeting in the Hale Library 
  • Other Boards and Committees may have meetings before the start of Town Meeting in the Hale Cafe 

The Check-In Process for Registered Voters

  • Voters should enter through the Main Entrance of Hale School and follow the signs to the CAFE
  • There will be check-in lines for each precinct.  Click here to find out which Precinct you are in (by address)
  • State your address and name to the Check-In Clerk.
  • The Check-In Clerk will give each voter a VOTER CARD.  Voters need this card to enter the Auditorium.  The cards are used during the voting process.
  • When Voting is taking place - voters are asked to stay in their seats.
  • VOTER CARDS should be turned in before leaving the building.
  • There is no photography allowed during voting.

  • Friday November 8,  2019 is the deadline to register to vote at the November 18th Special Town Meeting.
  • Non-Voters should check-in at the Non-Voter Check-In Table
  • Non-Voters will be given a CARD to allow them access to the Auditorium if they are an approved speaker
  • Approved Non-Voters may sit in the section in the Auditorium designated for Non-Voters or another spot approved by the moderator
  • Non-Voters are not permitted to address the Town Meeting (unless Town Meeting Voters vote to allow it)

    All of Stow's town meetings are held at the Hale Middle School, 55 Hartley Road.
    Town meetings commence at 7:00 p.m.

General Information

The Polling Location is Center School 403 Great Road
Main Parking lot is off of Great Road.
Polling Hours are usually 7:00am-8:00pm

PER MASS GENERAL LAW

ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATIONS CAN ONLY BE ACCEPTED DURING THE CURRENT CALENDAR YEAR
i.e.  An application received by the Town Clerk's office on December 20, 2019 will
ONLY provide the applicant with ballots for December 20, 2019 - December 31, 2019

IF you want to apply for absentee ballots during the 2020 Calendar year -
you should complete and send your application to the Town Clerk after January 1, 2020.


 

Massachusetts allows voters to vote by absentee ballot if they:

  • will be absent from your city or town on election day, and/or
  • have a physical disability that prevents your voting at the polling place, and/or
  • cannot vote at the polls due to religious beliefs.

You may have an absentee ballot mailed to you or you may vote at your city or town hall by making arrangements with your local election official.

To be counted, a completed ballot must be received by the time the polls close on Election Day to be counted.

EARLY VOTING INFORMATION
Early Voting is only an option for State/Federal Elections (or local elections held on the same day as a State/Federal Election)
