Volunteering

Volunteering at the Randall Library

We are no longer accepting new volunteers at this time. We appreciate all the help people have offered and will announce when we can begin accepting new applicants again.

The library wouldn’t function right without its volunteers! We are always in need of help with managing the collections. Main tasks include:

  • Reshelving books
  • Shelf reading (making sure books are where they belong!)
  • Attempting to locate missing items
  • Miscellaneous projects as availability arises

Physical requirements include being able to stand for extended periods, maneuvering heavy carts, standing on stools and crouching low to access shelves.

We ask that volunteers commit to a regular schedule (usually 1-2 hours a week) and inform our volunteer coordinator of any changes to your availability. Our coordinator will work with each volunteer to set and adjust as needed a schedule that works around any school and family commitments.

High school students are encouraged to volunteer! We will try our best to accommodate any community service requirements.

Stow residents who are over the age of 60 can participate in the Stow Tax Work-Off Program and can volunteer at the library for the required hours. Learn more about the program here

All potential volunteers must first pass a CORI check before beginning work at the library. Please reach out to us at randalllibrary@gmail.com to request a form. You can either email a completed form along with a picture of an official photo ID, or bring the paper form and physical ID to the library during open hours.
