Active Adult Neighborhood Planning Effort

Stow AAN Overlay DistrictIn the fall of 2019, Habitech, Inc. approached the Planning Board with a request to lift the current cap on the number 55+ age-restricted homes allowed in Stow for the purpose of constructing a new neighborhood on several parcels off Hudson Road that are currently in the zoning overlay district for Active Adult Neighborhood development.  Rather than amending the bylaw to simply allow more units of age-restricted housing, the Planning Board has engaged Habitech Inc. to cooperate in a broader planning effort to examine how amendments to the Active Adult Neighborhood Overlay District could advance the Town’s evolving housing and open space planning goals in the District’s remaining parcels.  Habitech, Inc. is interested in working with the Town toward a Bylaw amendment that can meet their financial goals, as well as the needs of the Town.
