2024 Applications are now available!

The Stow Community Gardens are located on Tuttle Lane -- one of the most beautiful scenic roads in Stow, and part of the Captain Sargent Conservation Area, owned and managed by the Stow Conservation Commission.  It’s a friendly and inviting place to grow your vegetables and flowers, meet and exchange ideas with other gardeners, picnic, and learn the joys of gardening.

Annual garden plots are plowed and harrowed yearly in the spring as soon as the soil can be worked and harrowed in the fall to allow for planting of cover crops.  Perennial garden plots are not plowed or harrowed by the Town.  Five pitcher pumps are on site to provide water. The approximate gardening season runs from early May through October depending on weather – gardeners will receive an email once the gardens are plowed, staked and ready for gardening.

New to the 2023 garden season, nine raised garden beds are available. These raised beds will allow those with mobility challenges to garden at the Community Gardens. The raised bed area is fully fenced in and the paths around the beds are woodchipped. A well pitcher pump and watering can are located inside the raised bed plot area. Funding for the raised beds and other improvements at the Stow Community Gardens was provided through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. To apply for a raised bed, please fill out the Raised Bed Garden Plot application. A wait list will be created when all raised beds have been assigned. Transportation assistance may be available for Stow Residents, please contact the Stow Council on Aging for more information 978-897-1880.

All prospective gardeners are required to submit an application along with a check or money order payable to the Town of Stow to reserve a plot. Applications and payment may also be submitted online here. The Conservation Office cannot accept cash.

Returning gardeners will be assigned to the same plots if their application is returned by March 31st. After that plots are available on a first-come first-serve basis and a waiting list will be created when all plots are assigned. Raised bed Garden Plot applications are due by March 15th. Please contact the office with any questions you may have at 978-897-8615 or conservation2@stow-ma.gov.

The 2024 Application must be received by March 31, 2024 from returning gardeners in good standing to be guaranteed the prior year’s plot(s). The 2024 Application forms are available here:
